Write an Offender: Central Mail Processing and O-mail (Iowa DOC)
Iowa DOC page setting out how to send letters, photos and email to someone in state prison. All incoming non-legal mail must be sent to a central processing facility operated by Pigeonly Corrections at PO Box 96777, Las Vegas, NV 89193, addressed with the person's name, offender ID, facility name and the facility's mailing code (for example 1106 for Anamosa State Penitentiary); mail sent directly to an Iowa facility is returned to sender. Pigeonly opens and scans items into colour digital copies that are printed and delivered, while originals are stored briefly and then destroyed. Accepted items include letters, children's drawings, greeting cards, postcards, up to ten 4x6 photos and unbound newsletters. The page also covers CorrLinks O-mail at $0.25 per message with a 13,000-character or 100-line limit, and Pelipost as the approved photo print provider.
