Visitation

Visiting Information for Adult Institutions (Wisconsin DOC)

Wisconsin DOC's visiting page explains how to get approved and what to expect at a state prison visit. Everyone who wants to visit must be on the approved visitor list under Administrative Code Ch. 309.08, which requires a completed DOC-21AA Visitor Questionnaire for every prospective visitor including minor children; the incarcerated person mails the form out and the visitor returns it to the institution. People in Assessment and Evaluation status at Dodge, Milwaukee Secure Detention or Taycheedah may have up to four adult close-family visitors, while others may list up to 12 adults, with approved minors not counting against the limit. Visitors 16 and older must show photo ID from an accepted list, must clear a metal detector within three attempts, and may bring up to $25 or one debit or credit card plus limited baby items. The page gives the full visitor dress code and notes that no items may be passed to a resident.
