Visiting a Missouri Prison: Application and Visit Rules (Missouri DOC)
Missouri Department of Corrections visiting page. Visitors must be pre-approved through the online visitor application and a criminal history check is conducted. Immediate family, extended family, a significant other, friends and clergy may apply, and a visitor may visit only one offender unless they are an immediate family member of more than one. Denied applicants may appeal within 30 days to the Deputy Division Director of Adult Institutions, 2729 Plaza Drive, PO Box 236, Jefferson City, MO 65102, and may reapply after one year. A visit is limited to three visitors per offender plus up to three additional visitors aged 5 and under, and people on reception and orientation status may receive only one visit per month. The page details required identification, allowed items, full-body scanners and other searches, the dress code, contact limits of one greeting and departing embrace and brief closed-mouth kiss, incentive food visits, and the contraband offence under Missouri Statute 217.360 carrying up to 15 years.
