Visitation
Visitation Rules and Procedures (Colorado DOC)
This Colorado DOC page sets out conduct expected of visitors once a visit is scheduled and what happens when rules are broken. Visitors must follow the visitation dress code and conduct standards, and failure to do so may mean the scheduled visit is cancelled or terminated. Visitors are responsible for supervising their minor children, physical discipline of children is not allowed anywhere on correctional facility property, and a visit may be terminated if a child is not brought under control after a warning. Introducing contraband is grounds for permanent suspension of in-person or contact visitation, though non-contact visits by video or phone may still be authorised. The page states plainly that visitors will not be strip searched; where reasonable suspicion of concealed contraband exists, OIG investigators or local law enforcement are summoned instead, and the visitor, inmate and investigator are advised of the outcome in writing.
