Staying Connected: Mail, Phone, Video Visits and Money (New Jersey DOC)

Comprehensive NJDOC page covering every channel for contacting someone in a New Jersey state prison. All incoming general correspondence must be sent to the third-party vendor Pigeonly Corrections at the incarcerated person's name and SBI number, the facility name and its code, PO Box 96777, Las Vegas, NV 89193, with a table of codes for all ten facilities. Accepted items include letters, greeting cards, postcards, unbound newsletters and 4x6 photos limited to ten per parcel, with envelopes no larger than 4 by 9.5 inches; a long list of prohibited items is given, and originals are held 45 days then destroyed. On phones, the page states that effective May 1, 2025 the rate for an incarcerated person's call is $0.034 per minute through ViaPath, and explains AdvancePay accounts, call blocking and unblocking, and that calls are recorded except for attorney, Ombudsperson and Hyacinth Foundation lines. Video visit rules and a trust fund deposit fee schedule are also included.
