Sending Letters to an Inmate (West Virginia DCR)

The West Virginia Division of Corrections and Rehabilitation's mail page gives the single address families must use for letters to anyone in WVDCR custody: the inmate's first and last name and OID number, the full facility name with no abbreviations, PO Box 336, Phoenix, MD 21131. Senders must include a full return address with complete first and last name, with no initials. The page lists what will cause mail to be rejected: photographs will be returned to the sender, an envelope addressed to more than one offender will be returned, and no attachments or enclosures are allowed because only handwritten or typed letters are scanned to the offender. Violating any of these rules causes all contents to be returned to the sender.
