Scheduling Video and Face-to-Face Visits (DC Department of Corrections)

This DC DOC service page explains how social visits at the DC Jail are arranged. Visits are booked online at the department's visitation site or by calling 1-888-906-6394 or (202) 442-6155, Tuesday to Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm, up to one week ahead and at least 24 hours in advance. Sessions run Wednesday through Sunday from 11 am to 10 pm, with the last session starting at 9 pm, and visits are automatically cancelled if visitors arrive late. Inmates are allowed two free 45-minute social visits a week; one adult and up to two minor children may enter the video visitation room, with additional supervised children rotated in during the session. Community video stations are available at the Anacostia, Capitol View and Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial libraries. The page lists the rules that apply equally to at-home, satellite and on-site video visits, including no recordings or screenshots, appropriate clothing, and no unscheduled participants.
