Phone Calls and Inmate Phone Accounts (Indiana DOC)
Indiana DOC explains that an incarcerated individual must complete and sign a telephone list naming no more than 20 people and their numbers, counted per person even where several share a number, under Indiana Code 11-8-2-5(a)(8) and policy 02-01-105. Calls can be received as collect, prepaid collect through ViaPath's AdvancePay, or paid by the inmate using PIN debit, which can also be funded by family through ConnectNetwork and used to call any approved number including mobiles; straight collect calls cannot be made to cell phones, office phones or hospital numbers. The page also tells recipients how to manage unwanted calls: press 1 to refuse a call, press 6 and set a four-digit PIN to block a facility permanently, or call ViaPath on (877) 650-4249, with unblocking taking one to two business days. It lists AdvancePay signup on 800-483-8314 and explains how to ask a warden for a written correspondence or telephone restriction.
