Operating Procedure 851.1: Visiting Privileges (Virginia DOC)

Official Virginia DOC operating procedure governing visiting, effective March 2025 and amended through August 2026. Covers visitor approval through the central visitation unit, grounds for denial, limits on visiting more than one person, requirements for minors, visit duration, restrictions on physical contact, restorative housing visit limits of one hour per week with no more than five visitors, and the fifteen calendar day window to appeal a suspension to the Regional Administrator.
