NHDOC Frequently Asked Questions for Families (New Hampshire)

New Hampshire Department of Corrections FAQ page aimed at people trying to get information about an incarcerated loved one. It explains that publicly releasable information is available through the online resident locator, that anyone who does not appear there is not in NHDOC custody, and that people held in county jails will not appear because NHDOC has no jurisdiction over county facilities. For anything beyond public information, a release of information form must be on file, and the incarcerated person must initiate it with their case manager; there are separate forms for general and medical information, and without a form on file nothing beyond the online record can be released. The page lists the facilities NHDOC operates, including the New Hampshire State Prison for Men, the Correctional Facility for Women, the Northern New Hampshire Correctional Facility, the Transitional Work Center and transitional housing units, and explains how to make a Right-to-Know request under RSA 91-A.
