New York Committee on Open Government (New York)

The New York State Committee on Open Government oversees and advises the government, public, and news media on the Freedom of Information Law (FOIL), Open Meetings Law, and Personal Privacy Protection Law. It prepares written advisory opinions, answers phone inquiries, and provides tools for making a FOIL request and appealing a denial, including sample letters and response time limits.
