Mississippi DOC Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) Information

The Mississippi Department of Corrections PREA page states it is MDOC policy to maintain zero tolerance for prison rape and other forms of sexual assault in all MDOC facilities, and tells anyone being pressured by another offender for money, property or sexual favors to immediately contact their Case Manager, Unit Administrator or any staff member they feel comfortable with. To comply with PREA Standards 115.53 and 115.253 on access to outside confidential support services, MDOC partners with the Mississippi Coalition Against Sexual Assault, and the page directs people to report sexual abuse by writing to MCASA at P.O. Box 4172, Jackson, MS 39296 or calling 1-888-987-9011. The page also posts downloadable PREA documents, including the Offender PREA Intake Form, the PREA Intake Admissions Handout in English and Spanish, the PREA Screening Assessment and Reassessment Form, and a sexual assault containment protocol checklist.
