The Maine Department of Corrections compliance page explains the department's zero tolerance policy toward sexual misconduct and sexual harassment and gives the channels for reporting it. Reports can be made on the PREA reporting line at 1-855-279-4763, by email to PREA.DOC@maine.gov, or by mail to the PREA Coordinator, Maine Department of Corrections, 111 State House Station, Augusta, ME 04333-0111. The page states that all allegations of sexual misconduct or sexual harassment are referred for investigation to an agency with legal authority to conduct criminal investigations unless the allegation does not involve potentially criminal behavior, and that staff or volunteers who engage in, threaten, or fail to report such conduct face action up to criminal prosecution.
