Family Information Hub: Visits, Mail, Phone and Money (South Carolina DOC)

SCDC's Family page is the agency's single guide for contacting someone in South Carolina state prison. Visitation is Saturdays and Sundays from 8 am to 4 pm in two-hour blocks; general population inmates get four in-person visits a month with one visit per weekend, up to four visitors at a time, and all visits must be scheduled at least 15 hours ahead through the ViaPath scheduler. Each inmate may have 15 approved visitors. Mail must show the inmate's legal name, SCDC number and living unit; no more than 10 photos per envelope are allowed, and since October 1, 2025 books must come from one of six approved vendors. Calls run through ViaPath at 5.5 cents per minute with up to 20 numbers on a Personal Allowed Number list. Money goes to the Cooper Trust Fund, and since November 3, 2025 only approved visitors may deposit funds.
