Digital Correspondence and Tablet Messaging (Indiana DOC)
Indiana DOC's digital correspondence page explains that friends and family now use GettingOut.com to send messages and photos to people in state custody. Senders create an account, search for and add their loved one as a contact, then use the Friends and Family feature to add funds, which can only be used by that sender for their own contacts. Messaging rates vary by facility and are shown once a contact is added and credits are purchased. Funding for PIN debit phone accounts, the trust fund and tablet usage is unchanged and still goes through ConnectNetwork, with PIN debit funds now working for both phones and tablets. Pictures and videograms must comply with the requirements for printed matter and are subject to the same rules as policy 02-01-103 Offender Correspondence. Youth in Indiana's juvenile facilities continue to receive two free phone calls a week plus free digital and video messaging, with outgoing messages free and standard costs applying to incoming messages.
