CPP 16.1 Inmate Visits Policy (Kentucky DOC)

Kentucky Department of Corrections statewide visiting policy, effective May 15, 2024, issued under 501 KAR 6:430. The warden may allow each inmate a minimum of eight hours of visiting per month, counting in-person and video visits together. An inmate may request visits from immediate family as verified by the presentence report, plus three additional adults and one clergy member, and the visitation list may be updated twice a year on a schedule keyed to the last digit of the inmate's institutional number. Prospective visitors must mail a completed Visiting Information Form to the warden; the blank form is attached to the policy. Children under 18 must be on the list and accompanied by a parent or guardian, or by another immediate family member with notarised written consent. Ex-offenders, parolees, probationers and former DOC employees need warden approval and a one-year wait.
