Correspondence: Digital Mail Rules and Facility Addresses (North Dakota DOCR)
North Dakota DOCR page explaining that, effective June 1, 2021, personal mail is no longer accepted at any DOCR facility and must instead go to the Securus Digital Mail Center, where it is scanned and made available on the resident's player. A return name and address is required or the mail is returned. The page lists the common reasons mail is rejected: more than 30 pictures in one envelope, more than ten pages of non-personal correspondence per envelope, and third-party mail sent by someone other than the person named in the return address. Residents receive a rejection notice and have seven days to appeal. Facilities do still accept legal mail, mail from other agencies, visitation applications, certified mail for limited documents, and new publications sent directly from an approved publisher or vendor, and the page gives the street addresses for each facility for those items.
